My name is Nyia Chituck and I serve as the Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC) member from the Eastern Election area for the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). The job of the NEC is to seek out candidates for national office and to present a slate of nominees for all elected positions of the association to the house of delegates. The NSNA Midyear Career Planning Conference is approaching quickly and the Nominating and Elections Committee is looking forward to meeting you! The NEC will have several opportunities to interact with potential candidates and explain the application and election process during the Midyear Conference.

Our goal for the 2018 NSNA Annual Convention is to find passionate, dedicated and committed individuals to run for office. We believe that every NSNA member have all the qualities necessary for leadership! We are hoping many of you will consider running for NSNA office! We encourage you to check out the leadership opportunities within NSNA, on the “How to Run for National Office” page on the NSNA website. The time commitment of NSNA leadership is very manageable as a student and the support of the NSNA staff is one of a kind. To request an application, please complete a request for information form or email firstname.lastname@example.org with “NEC” in the subject line. The date to pre-slate as a candidate is Thursday, January 25th, 2018. Pre-slating is a great way to start your campaign and provides ample time to prepare for annual convention. If you are interested in running for a position or have specific questions, come visit us while you are at the MidYear Conference or email me at email@example.com.
